ABOUT National Energy Regulator of South Africa NERSA COMPANY
The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA), a regulatory authority, is responsible for regulating the electricity, piped-gas and petroleum pipelines industries within the country. The Energy Regulator includes of 9 members, include part-time and full-time members, and is supported by personnel under the direction of the CEO.
ABOUT NERSA BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE
NERSA is among General Bursaries South Africa.
They are offering bursaries to students interested in pursuing career in the energy sector. Bursaries will be awarded for Postgraduate degree or diploma studies, within (but not limited to) the following fields:
- Actuarial Science
The bursary will cover the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees and prescribed books.
NERSA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Completed an undergraduate degree or diploma qualification
- Accepted to study within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Accepted to study at a registered University or University of Technology in South Africa
- Excellent academic record
- Strong potential for academic success
- From a previously disadvantaged group
- Proven financial need

Students who meet the above eligibility requirements, must apply by submitting clear copies of the following supporting documentation (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

Full tertiary academic record (certified copy)
University acceptance letter
Proof of income
Proof of any other bursary/ grant/ financial assistance which you will be or are receiving to fund your studies
